Lessons in life

In a few days, school is about to start again.
Again another summer vacation at end, and I did nothing but stress and strain.
I got used to the huge amount of sleep.

I wake up at 14:00 now, and hopefully I get to the things I have planned for that day.
I'm so used to it ( rest ) that it is seems as though my vacation is just startding.
I don't want to start at my new internship and slave away again. Day in and day out I will have to prove myself of my worth to others.

And for what?
For a diploma. So I have proof of my worth to the world, and I might get a job.
As if a diploma really can proof my worth, or insure me of a good paying job in my furture.
And so forth I will have to slave away behind a desk and prove myself to a boss.
All this mental and physical stress and strain.

Forever I am doomed to long for summer vacations.
Forever I am doomed to a life full of everyday stress, and strain.
Forever I am doomded to a life of constantly proving myself, and convincing people of who I am, and what I am capable to do.

When, when! will be the day that I can say that I am free?!

Freedom in what I want, wherever I want.
Rest, no more alarm clocks that tell me I have to be somewhere.
No more " I have to's"

Is it all the power of money?
The only reason why I need a diploma, is to get a good paying job.
Seems like this is my only way to freedom, ...or is it?

Is earning money really freedom?
Or is money the key to freedom?
Is money the doorway to freedom, ... happiness and bliss?
Or IS money happiness and bliss.
Do happiness and bliss come with price tags?
Aren't the best things in life for free?
Or are the best things in life for sale?
Is there a minimum and maximum level for the amount of freedom and happiness, people are allowed to have?
Does happiness come with levels?
....
Do I have to buy my freedom?
What kind of f*ked up world is this!!!
Wasn't I born as a free human being?
I have the right to do whatever I want in my life.
It's my life, I have to use it and live it as good as it gets.
Be without pain, stress, mental strain.
Be worthy because I am a human being.
Be proud, Be strong, Be loved, Be free, Be happy.
Then why is it. That I feel captive in my own country. That claims to be the free world.
Why does society decide when it's time for me to free?

An introduction

You may have seen me around, posting on this blog occasionally. You can tell it’s not Denise posting because of my flawless grammar (I’m kidding, Denise!). My name’s Miranda. I consider Denise to be one of my dearest, closest friend and I’ve volunteered to help out with this blog. I occasionally write for money. A copywriter is what some may call me. Usually it’s in Dutch, however, English isn’t too bad for me either.

What do I do?

I do many things. For instance I make all the ladies weak in the knees. As you can tell from that statement I’m also pretty hilarious (not). I only make one lady weak in the knees and that’s my girlfriend, who happens to live in England. I know, not the most convenient place to live if you live in Holland yourself. In all seriousness, I do a lot of things. I write. I design. I like to make people smile and tell jokes. I’m also one of the most sarcastic people you’ll ever meet (if you’re lucky enough to meet me at all). Most of all I try to just enjoy life as much as I can and learn something from it in the process. So, nice to meet you!

If life gives you lemons…

You kick that sucker in the face. You kick it right in the face and tell life to go screw itself. You didn’t want lemons. You didn’t ask for lemons. All you wanted was a flippin’ grapefruit and life gave you lemons. What doesn’t it think of itself? Life needs to get off its high horse and grow a pair. Life needs to listen to what you need to tell it and it needs to take notes. It needs to know that you wanted a grapefruit. You should communicate with life before you yell at it you wanted a grapefruit. However, both parties are wrong in this matter.

Sadly, this is the truth

I’m trying to make this easy for you, but there is no easy way to tell you this. It’s not all ‘life gives you lemons so you deal with it, make the best of it and make some lemonjuice’ anymore. It’s the attitude some people have towards life. There is no gratitude anymore. There is ignorance. There is bigotry. There is no compassion for any lemons or any life whatsoever anymore and we all need to deal with that. I see so much arrogance around me. I see it every day. On the bus, subway, tram, walking past me in the streets. High class businessmen with their high class leather business briefcases walking past me while I sniff their probably very high class cologne that, quite frankly, makes me feel a little bit sick judging by the amount that was even on there on the first place… My point? I have no point. I’m just here to tell you a little bit of truth every day. Or, I strive to.

3 Things to do every day. Guilt free!

3 Things to do every day. Guilt free!

There are many things in life you can do to make yourself happy. My biggest vice is eating.
Food makes me happy. A lot of people have the same issue as me. However, there are some
healthy alternatives you can enjoy every day without the guilt that comes with say, food
(or any other bad addiction for that matter). Here are 3 things you can do every day that are
guaranteed to make you happy.

1. Exercise

I know it’s probably not what you want to hear, but exercise is something you can
do every day (if not intense, of course. Don’t want your muscles to get all strained)
without feeling guilty, because it’s actually good for you! I know, I know. You’ve
heard this before. You don’t want a fatty telling you this. However, I find that exercise
helps me clear my mind, lose some calories and aside all of that it also releases
endorphins afterwards. You know, the little monsters that make you feel all soft and
fuzzy inside?

2. Enjoy life

Life is there to enjoy. You only have one life and you need to make the best of it. Live
a little! Appreciate nature, your friends, family, all the good things in your life and
you’ll see that you will eventually become a lot happier. Always look on the bright
side of life and above all: Stay positive!

3. Explore

Somehow, for some reason this earth was created. It hosts organisms. It hosts people.
It hosts nature. Seas. Oceans. Woods. Jungles. It hosts all kinds of wonderful things
that you can explore. I know, you think this one is a bit childish… but I try to take a
walk every day and just look at the world around me. That’s how I explore. Try it and
I can guarantee you, you will become happier… if not, certainly more appreciative!

10 Things You Don't Know About Me

It getting late.
But I am still a bit hyper, because I just had my last cup of coffee for today.
The day was a bit slow and non-productive because I am staying at my moms place for these past 3 days.
And her computer is like the slowest on earth...well might not be the slowest. But I am spoiled by my own desktop, wich is razor fast. And when I working on another different PC it never goes that fast ...so...

After a few hours of trying to adjust some thing in the layout of this website. And trying to get more traffic. I am kind of bored by making a post that will be marketing informative. Or another post that requires me to do a lot of research and find sources.

Instead I will make a post that is a little more fun and easier to do.

Today's bloggers are different from 3 years ago.
Bloggers become younger, and more active. But seem to share not a lot of themselves.
People blog about everything.
But there is a lot more to share.
People forget that the most fun thing to know, are personal things nobody knows about.
You know, the little facts, the stuff you keep in your mind, your faults, your quaities.
And finding out that even a person who sets up a blog is just as human as they are.

Well surprise, surprise!!

I don't mind letting the entire world know that I am also human.
And that I am qourky sometimes.
It's what makes me human, and I am not ashamed of my faults. ...well only the very dumb ones....
So if you want to be entertained with these facts about me, that will confirm that I am probably the most qorky person you will ever know, then stick around. And have a laugh or two.

These are probably some facts I should not put on the internet, ...Oh what the heck I will regret it later on.
Life now, laugh, life it up, and cry about it later! That in one of my life's mottos, Hey that is one fact I should have include in the list below!! Oh well.....

1. I have a HUGE family.
My grandparents and the ones before them always had a lot of children. I mean A LOT.
My grandma, my mothers's mom, had 10 kids. yes 10!
I don't know much about my other grandma, from my dad's side. But I also guess she had a lot. From what I know, she had about  4 children I guess.

2. I am mixed with all types of different cultures and races.
My mom is Dutch, and my Dad is from Suriname. A small tropical country in south America.Close to Brazil.
My mom's original roots are French, she also has a French family name. And my Dads original roots are African. He also has a lot of African names.
So this makes me part Dutch, French, Suriname, and African. But I am more interested in Asian culture....

3. I am 26. But I am so short that it looks like I'm 18.
Some people even take me up for 16!!
I am NOT proud of this, It's rather a problem when I am out with my gang and at every club entrance they ask for my ID.

4. I am very short. The average Dutch person in around 1m70, I am 1m48.
Shoesize 36 is most of the time even too big for, so I have use soles.

5. I am a HUGE Tokio Hotel fan.
Ever since 2007 I am a true blue Alien. And proud of it.

6. Bill Kaulitz is my idol. Nuff said.

7. But CL from 2ne1 is my example as a women I want to be.
She is such a strong and independet women. I wish I was like her.

8. I wish I was Asian.
To me all Asian people are so pretty, I love the culture, I love everything that is Asian.....I wish I was Asian.

9. I am probably the last person you would want to meet in the morning.
My mood in the morning until 12 at noon is MURDER!
When I wake up early I am in the mood to even kill my socks when they will not cooperate with me, when I need to hurry up, and they curl up, or the seem on the inside is ticklish, or the worst, they appear to have a hole in them, but I am too late to change them.

10. My toes are the most ugliest toes in the entire world.
When I was about 6 years old. I droped a wooden plank with sharp edges on my toes.
The plank was loose, and it was in my bedbunk-closet. I didn't know it was loose. And I wanted to show off a new toy. But ... it didn't end well. Up until today my toe nails look like ..... never mind the don't look good.
